Born In The Dark.
Artist Statement
For many, darkness represents fear—the fear of the unknown. As children, we were taught to stay away from the dark, to turn on the light when shadows crept in. But I’ve learned that darkness isn’t something to run from. It’s a mirror. It’s mystery. And mystery invites us to look deeper.
My art exists in that space—between what’s seen and what’s hidden. Through tenebrismand high-contrast imagery, I explore the relationship between shadow and illumination, fear and understanding. The dark becomes a place of revelation rather than concealment.
We all experience moments that feel heavy, uncertain, or painful. Yet it’s within those moments that we often discover our highest selves—our purest light. My goal is to show that dark art doesn’t have to be sad or angry. It can be a reflection of resilience, curiosity, and truth. It can be whatever you need it to be—as long as it’s raw and real.
